Possessive adjectives are words that say to whom or to what something belongs. In other words possisive adjectives are used to show the belongings.
In French possessive adjective agrees with gender and number.
In Singular :In French we have three forms of “My”.
Masculine: Mon Ex: mon pere est grand.
Feminine : Ma Ex: ma mere est belle.
Plural : Mes Ex: mes parents sont heureux.
- In French we have three forms of “Your”.
Masculine: Ton Ex: ton pere est grand.
Feminine : Ta Ex: ta mere est belle.
Plural : Tes Ex: tes parents sont heureux.
For third person singular plural (he,she,they) we use :
- if noun is masculine. For ‘his’ we use “son”
- if noun is feminine For “her” we use “sa”
- if noun is plural For “their” we use “ses”
Note : if feminine noun is starting with vowel we use masculine possessive adjectives.
For 1st person plural masculine and feminine we use “ Notre” and for plural we use “Nos”.
For 2nd person plural masculine and feminine we use “ Votre” and for plural we use “Vos”.
For 3rd person plural masculine and feminine we use “ leur” and for plural we use “leurs”.
